Tape based backups have been around for a long time - nearly as long as computers themselves. It's an old technology prone to degradation and failure. It's also a menual process to change tapes and take them off-site, often overlooked by many companies.

Data is backed up to our disk vaults in our ISO27001 accredited data centres. The data is fully exncrypted at source and cannot be restored without the customer-owned encryption keys.
For added resilience data is replicated between our UK based physical data centres. Data can be backed up from customer sites over the internet, from servers hosted in our data centres or from servers hosted on OnyxCloud.
